About Brendon

Brendon and his family – Dottie and Steven – were taken into our shelter in September 2024, after we found them at a local riverside picnic area. Sadly, these kinds of places, mostly visited on weekends, are often used as dumping grounds for unwanted dogs. They were skinny, weak, and in poor condition. A veterinary examination confirmed they had parvovirus, so emergency treatment was necessary. After several weeks of care, they finally recovered and were able to socialize with other dogs. Unfortunately, spending a long time in a clinic and receiving daily IV therapy can negatively affect dogs, often causing them to lose trust in people. Over time, we managed to rebuild that trust. While they’re still a bit shy, they have come a long way. Experienced families would be the best fit for them, as they can offer the understanding and patience these dogs need to fully thrive.
