This is Prinz
Date of birth: August 2019
Height: 49 cm
Family in the shelter: No family !
Our prince was spotted by residents in a small village near Gorazde in August 2021. He came limping and badly injured from the nearby forest. When we got the call from the residents, we immediately went there to get him. Our doctors found that Prince’s left hind leg had suffered an open fracture and the wound was badly infected. Euthanizing such a young dog was definitely not an option for us and since his size and weight allowed it, we opted for a leg amputation. Unfortunately, a cure without amputation would have been impossible. Thankfully, Prinz came through the surgery just fine. Unfortunately, at the amputation level, prosthetic fitting is no longer possible. Unfortunately, prostheses with straps around the body do not make sense either, because the prosthesis would rotate on the thigh and would not have a stable hold. Only for the other side is a joint-stabilizing orthosis against overuse injuries feasible. This orthosis has to be custom-made and is unfortunately not feasible in Bosnia. Prince’s wound is now completely healed and we are urgently looking for a family with a heart who can provide him with the missing orthosis and offer him a carefree life. Our dearest Prince is a kind-hearted and playful, joyful dog and we wish him a great new home with all our hearts.
